Open Briefing has published its impact report for 2019. Some of the highlights include:

86% increase in confidence in their security and/or wellbeing reported by beneficiaries
98% approval rating given by beneficiaries
Last year, we increased the number of human rights defenders and other civic actors that we directly support by 23% compared to 2018, and increased the number that we trained by a massive 75% on the previous year. We are particularly pleased by the huge 86% increase in confidence in their security and/or wellbeing that beneficiaries reported.

While we are pleased to note the 15% reduction in the total number of civic actors killed in 2019 compared to 2018, the number of countries with closed, repressed or obstructed civic spaces remained at 111 in 2019.
In 2020, we remain dedicated to achieving a world where rights are realised and people are free.
