Open Briefing is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a major grant by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

NED is a private, non-profit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. It is a unique, bipartisan institution that is funded primarily through an annual allocation from the US Congress.

The $120,000 grant will help us develop several innovative new security resources and allow us to expand the pro bono support that we can provide to threatened human rights defenders and civil society organisations, particularly in the global south.

The NED application process is protracted and rigorous. Our success is both a reflection of the foundation’s deep desire to strengthen civil society and a significant endorsement of our approach and effectiveness.
